Cool Retro Mr. Pool Sign to be Rescued
One of my favorite examples of cool signage has been defaced. Mr. Pool has been a fixture on Blvd for years. Anyone who grew up in the San Fernando Valley probably took a trip to Mr. Pool sometime in their lives.
I love the retro letters. I’ve always thought they would make a cool font. When I saw what happened I was afraid the sign would be replaced with something blocky and plastic. As it turns out this is the company logo. They plan to replace the sign as is. When the new sign is finally installed, we will update as the situation warrants.
