Brush Fire In Sepulveda Dam Basin Knocked Out, LAFD Rocks!
Just before 4pm a small brush fire broke out in the Sepulveda flood control basin. Initial reports said it was two small fires, but that hasn’t been confirmed.
According to the LAFD blog it took 60 firefighters both in the air and on the ground 93 minutes to put out the fire.
It covered about 2 acres. No injuries or structures threatened.
The cause is under investigation.
The address of the fire was listed as 15700 Burbank. The east end of the Sepulveda Dam Basin contains a model aircraft field, a water treatment plant with Japanese Gardens, several pards and 225 acres are designated as the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve.
